Mediation

Unresolved conflict casts a long shadow. It can be a source of significant stress, reduce focus on other priorities and prevent the parties to the conflict from moving forward.

As a mediator I build an environment of trust which allows me to uncover the root causes of conflict, to help the parties to re-assess their priorities, and to guide them in negotiating their own resolution or settlement.

Mediation works.

“His expertise, calm demeanour and thoughtful guidance made the entire mediation process seamless”

The Mediation Process

A commercial mediation typically runs over the course of a single day, with some preparation ahead of the day, and governed by a mediation agreement which all parties and the mediator sign. Throughout the day, the mediator holds a combination of joint sessions (with both parties) and private sessions (with the parties individually). The format for workplace mediations is also flexible.

Mediation is voluntary, confidential, and on a without prejudice basis. It is non-binding until the parties have signed a settlement agreement.

“We were, quite literally, packing up and getting ready to leave empty-handed when you came back and got us to muster and give it one more shot. To say the very least - brilliant - and almost odd in a world where common decency is out of the ordinary.”
